After a six year hiatus, the James Bond franchise returned with No Time to Die. The movie is now available in theaters, but when will the latest 007 adventure be available on Blu-Ray and DVD?
In his fifth and final appearance as James Bond, Daniel Craig returns for his swan song as the most famous British secret service agent in movies. In this film, Bond, who left MI6, is brought back into a life of espionage by the CIA to investigate what happened to a missing scientist. During his investigation, he has showdowns with not only a former enemy, but a new villain intent on disrupting the world.
After being delayed for over a year, No Time to Die premiered in the U.S. on Oct. 8, 2021. The film registered an opening weekend of $56 million at the domestic box office. Although that’s a solid number for a film during the pandemic, it may be an uphill climb for the film to make back its money. Estimates reports that this iteration of Bond will need to earn at least $800 million at the global box office to make money.
Just because the film is in theaters doesn’t mean people will see it right away. In fact, many could wait for the film to become available for purchase at home. So when will it arrive on Blu-ray and DVD?
No Time to Die Blu-Ray and DVD release date
Due to the premiere occurring days ago, don’t expect Bond to arrive at your homes in disc form anytime soon. The Bond franchise relies on its theatrical run to accumulate money so expect the film to stay in theaters for the foreseeable future. However, the pandemic could expedite its VOD date if the box office returns are less than satisfying.
In terms of Blu-Ray and DVD, there is no official release date as of early October. Our best guess would be sometime in the first quarter of 2022. For reference, Spectre was released in November 2015 and arrived on Blu-Ray and DVD in February 2016.
As always, as soon as we know more, we’ll update this post!
