Audiences tuning in to FOX hoping to catch an all-new episode of Alter Ego are confused to see that there’s no episode on tonight. Has the singing competition show been canceled so early on? Rest assured, that’s not the case!
This Fall TV season has offered TV audiences many new shows, but like all things, they haven’t all been great. Personally, Alter Ego is at the bottom of my list. I gave the new singing competition series a fair chance, but I just can’t get into it.
Instead, I much rather keep up with The Masked Singer, The Voice, and Dancing with the Stars. What about you? Have you been enjoying Alter Ego or do you prefer other shows?

Is Alter Ego canceled?
No. While the new show doesn’t have the best ratings and has been received with mixed reviews. FOX has not canceled it.
Is there a new episode of Alter Ego tonight?
No. There’s no new episode of Alter Ego tonight, Oct. 27. Instead of a new episode, FOX is hosting the World Series Game. Tonight, is Game 2: Atlanta Braves At Houston Astros. The new FOX singing competition is not the only program fans will be missing this week. FOX is also skipping The Masked Singer and The Resident, among other favorites.
When does Alter Ego return?
Regular programming resumes next week, Nov. 1, 2021, so the show continues next week on Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2021, with episode 7, “The Head To Heads Night 3” at 9 p.m. ET only on FOX.
The show allows contestants to create an avatar. It is this avatar that will perform in front of a live audiences while the singer is suited up backstage. Audiences at home can see what the performers look like, but not the judges. Then, the judges pick their favorite singer, who will be safe from elimination. At the end of the night, someone goes home, but not before performing as themselves.
