There are a few Netflix shows we’re excited to see more of. Shadow and Bone Season 2 is one of them, but there’s still a wait on our hands.
We’ve checked and double-checked the list of Netflix releases in November, and there is certainly bad news for Shadow and Bone fans. The second season is not on the list.
This isn’t all that surprising. We didn’t actually expect the season to arrive this soon. The first season only arrived earlier in 2021, and it usually takes 14 months at least between seasons. Some shows can take much longer. Look at the wait we’ve had for Stranger Things Season 4!
This doesn’t stop us checking. And it doesn’t stop us wishing that the series would arrive soon.
Shadow and Bone Season 2 release date predictions
Right now, it’s hard to make any sort of prediction on the release date. What I will say is that I’m not expecting the show in 2021 or in 2022.
The show hasn’t even started filming yet. The cast has been involved in other projects, especially Ben Barnes. According to Screen Rant, Barnes says that filming for the second season should start in 2022. We’re looking at some time at the start of the year.
It will take at least 12 months to get through filming and post-production work. This is a show with a lot of post-production needs when it comes to the visual effects. With that in mind, we’re looking at early 2023 at the earliest for Shadow and Bone Season 2.
This will certainly give you plenty of time to read the Grishaverse books. You’ll want to read the second book to get an idea of the main storyline for the season. Somehow, the Crows will fit into the story, and we’re not sure just how that will happen yet, but I’m excited for more Crows.
