The animated movie Sing captured our hearts! Not only does it feature an all-star cast, but the music and story are wonderful! We were so happy to learn that Buster Moon would be returning in Sing 2! When does the movie premiere?
Sing charmed families around the world in the year 2016 with its incredible performances, music score, and heartfelt story. It’s a movie that was played over and over again at my home at my kid’s request and, honestly, I never complained. I love and enjoy the movie just as much! And this isn’t something parents can say about just any movie!
What took a sequel so long with how successful this movie was? As you can imagine, getting such a talented cast together again isn’t easy. But now, five years later, we’re getting Sing 2 and we couldn’t be more excited. Not to mention, many more have joined the cast.
Thankfully, Sing 2 will be available in theaters just in time for the holidays, making the movie feel even more magical. Below, we share everything we know so far!
When does Sing 2 premiere online and in theaters?
At the moment, we only of the movie’s theater premiere, and that is on Dec. 22, 2021 — just before Christmas, what a gift!
As for a streaming release, we’re not sure! It’s possible that we won’t get one. It seems Sing 2 will be available exclusively in theaters. At this time, there are no plans to premiere the movie on a streaming platform, but if this changes, we’ll update this post with new information!
The film is from Universal Pictures, and most Universal films land on Netflix (just as the original did), but it’s not official.
What is the Sing 2 movie about?
Buster Moon and his all-star cast of performers are set to launch their biggest stage extravaganza yet, but they’ll first have to convince their main performer to participate, a legendary rock star (to be portrayed by music icon Bono) who wants nothing to do with it. Leave it to Buster Moon to make plans as he goes! How will he get out of this one? Buster will find a way, I’m sure.
The cast for Sing 2 will include Matthew McConaughey as Buster, Reese Witherspoon as Rosita, Scarlett Johansson as Ash, Taron Egerton as Johnny, Tori Kelly as Meena, and Nick Kroll as Gunter. Also joining the cast: Bobby Cannavale, Bono, Halsey, Pharrell Williams, Letitia Wright, Eric Andre, and Chelsea Peretti.
