Fans know Maggie Wheeler from Curb Your Enthusiasm and various other episodes from some of our favorite shows such as Shameless and The Closer, but the actress is best known and widely recognize as Janice from the hit sitcom Friends.
Recently, Wheeler got into character once again as the loud and obnoxious (yet we can’t help but love her to pieces), Janice! In the comedy, Chandler (Matthew Perry) and Janice have an on-and-off relationship throughout the show. And when Janice popped up, there was never a dull moment. Janice was a true scene-stealer and her laugh haunts us to this day in the best way.
The hilarious moment happened during singer-songwriter’s Jax’s (American Idol alum) recreation of the show’s theme, “I’ll Be There For You,” by the Rembradts.
The Friends romance that never made it to the end
HuffPost shared the TikTok video from Jax’s account, jaxwritessongs, and she’s singing her own version of “I’ll Be There For You,” when, in the end, we see Maggie Wheeler as Janice add her own lines to the song.
Janice tells Chandler that she will wait for him. She’ll wait for Chandler and Monica to get a divorce because she knows that Chandler loves Janice more. It’s too funny! And, of course, the video ends with Janice’s iconic laugh and line “you love me, Chandler Bing!”
Can you imagine what the show would have been if Chandler and Janice did end up together? No? Neither can I! I love Janice, but Monica and Chandler were meant to be from the very beginning. Forget Rachel and Ross, Chandler and Monica are my favorite couple! Still, the video is so fun to watch and, I’ll be honest, now I feel like rewatching Friends on HBO Max after that dose of nostalgia.
