Greg Hovanessian was a fan-favorite in his role as Chuck Stewart in When Hope Calls, but it seems his time with the show might have come to an end.
After appearing as a series regular in the first season of When Hope Calls, it appears Hovanessian will not be returning for the show’s second season in a similar role and has departed the show.
As reported by Parade, Hovanessian is not expected to return for season 2 and is among the most notable cast departures — a list that also includes Hovanessian’s frequent scene partner Jocelyn Hudon, who will not be returning in season 2 as Grace Bennett.
Where is Chuck in When Hope Calls season 2?
With Greg Hovanessian unable to return for When Hope Calls season 2, the writers found an organic way to address his exit by simply noting that Chuck had left town to be with Grace.
As fans will recall, Chuck professed his love for Grace in the season 1 finale and with Grace heading to England to help reunite an orphan with her long-lost grandfather, it turned into an organic way to address both Hovanessian and Hudon’s departures.
Will Greg Hovanessian return as Chuck on When Hope Calls?
Given his character is still very much alive and well, there is always a chance Greg Hovanessian could return to reprise his role as Chuck at some point in season 2 via a surprise appearance in any hypothetical future films or series.
At this time, though, there does not seem to be any plans in place for Chuck to appear in season 2 and Hovanessian’s schedule likely would make it difficult for him to return as he’s most recently returned for the second season of Netflix’s After Life and is attached to two films in various stages of production.
