Vera
We start with a crime drama that brings something for all those Midsomer Murder fans out there. Vera is based on the books by Ann Cleaves, and there are a few seasons of the series to work your way through this month.
Jan. 1 saw the arrival of Seasons 1, 2, and 6. It’s time to see how it all began for our favorite detective. Later in the month (Sunday, Jan. 9), Season 11 arrives in full. There’s nothing better than watching the character development.

Doctors 2022
If you love medical dramas, you’ll want to turn your attention to the 2022 episodes of Doctors. There are 200 episodes all at 30 minutes long. This is more of a soap than a drama, set in the same world as Casualty.
It focuses on serious medical conditions and passionate personal storylines. There is always some sort of medical mystery to solve, and these are just the family doctors and not the ER nurses at work!
24 Hours in Police Custody
Every wondered what it’s like while in police custody in the UK? That’s something 24 Hours in Police Custody gives us a look at. All episodes of Season 9 are available in the middle of the month.
The show uses fixed rig and handheld cameras to give access to the lives of the cops and the suspects. There are certainly some hilarious moments, but there are other moments that will leave you shocked to the core.
Father Brown
It’s time to return to one of the best countryside villages. We head back to Kembleford and the year is now 1952. Father Brown will continue his search for the killers, with the aim to help save their souls.
This year will see a murder at a local holiday came and one at Lady Felicia’s New Year Masked Ball. There are 10 episodes to the new season, with two episodes releasing each week.
8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown
Finally, it’s all about the comedy show 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. Jimmy Carr returns as host with Sean Locke and Jon Richardson as the captains of the teams. It’s another season mixing the current events comedy show 8 Out of 10 Cats with the letters and numbers of Countdown.
As usual Susie Dent will be on the dictionary and Rachel Riley will be there for the numbers. We’ll get to see a variety of comedians join the series to test their language and number skills.
