We’re off and running for the sixth and final season of NBC’s This Is Us. If last week was a sign of what’s to come, then things for the Pearson family will get worse before they get better.
The biggest reveal in last week’s season premiere revolved around Rebecca’s health. At the Big Three’s 41st birthday, Rebecca revealed that her PET scan showed plaque building in her brain, a sign of early-onset Alzheimer’s. As we’ve seen in the flash-forward, Rebecca’s memory will, unfortunately, deteriorate over time.
As for the Big Three, they all had interesting birthdays, to say the least. Kevin received an offer to be in The Manny reboot, which is the same show he hated and eventually walked out on. He also is struggling to co-parent with Madison while living in her garage.
For Kate, it was a quiet birthday with Toby working in San Francisco. However, she received a surprise when her students sang her a song in front of Phillip, her eventual husband in a few years. The surprises didn’t stop there as Toby showed up at the end of the episode to lovingly embrace his wife.
Finally, Randall decided to spend his birthday at the courthouse as his burglar was finally apprehended. After confronting the burglar, Randall realized the criminal suffered from a mental illness. Motivated by this interaction, Randall decided to make a change and focus on helping more people out in the city.
What time does This Is Us season 6 episode 2 start?
In tonight’s episode, Nicky, Miguel, and Rebecca will take a trip to visit Sally, Nicky’s former love. This is in response to Rebecca’s plea to start taking advantage of his life.
