What is the March docuseries on The CW about?

March made its debut on The CW Monday, Jan. 24. The docuseries from Stage 13 follows Prairie View A&M University’s Marching Storm.

In the premiere, “In to the Storm,” it’s the beginning of the season and each member is gearing up for homecoming where they’ll have a chance to show their skill, cement their place in the school’s storied legacy, and display the direction the band is headed with them at the head.

The members of the marching band at historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) are the stars on campus. At these centers of higher education, this extracurricular activity is treated like a sport as students devote their time and their college careers to show out as musicians, dancers, and in the coveted position of drum major.

The students take band as seriously as their studies and are expected to rise to the rigor of the program both in their abilities and their character. History is wrapped up in everything they do and they each seek to leave their own impact on the band.

Over the course of eight episodes the March docuseries pays tribute to the band culture at Prairie View  &M in a style that’s reminiscent of MTV’s True Life. Viewers will meet select members of the Marching Storm and follow them through their trials, triumphs, and every day lives as they prepare to graduate or vie for the top spots in the band.

Here’s more on the series!
