Demon Slayer season 2 episode 7 recap
Episode 7 starts with the continued fight between Daki and a much stronger, more gruesome Nezuko. Though, one can barely call this a fight as Nezuko quickly rendered Daki powerless, ruthlessly severing her limbs and stomping on her head with absolutely no intentions to stop.
With every hit, Nezuko’s new bloodlust reaches a point of no return, hence why her late brother, Takeo, visits Tanjiro in his sleep, urging him to stop her from going off the dead end. Filled with resolve, Tanjiro sets out to find his little sister, but before he could get to her, she goes even further in her brutality against Daki and is now burning her with her powerful Blood Demon Art.
Faced burned and ego bruised, Daki receives even more devastating blows from Nezuko including one that sent her flying into a civilians’ house. Whilst approaching the house to beat Daki up even further, Nezuko comes across a bleeding woman. As we know, normally, she wouldn’t be affected by the sight of blood, however, being that her transformation required so much of her energy and mental state, Nezuko becomes extremely disturbed, tempted to eat her first human to satiate her ravaging appetite.
Thankfully, in the knick of time, Tanjiro comes flying in, attempting to stop her by putting his scabbard over her mouth. But this is to no avail as Nezuko isn’t in the right mind to listen to her older brother’s pleas to calm down. The two continue to struggle, creating an opportunity for an extremely peeved Daki to finally kill Nezuko and Tanjiro. As she was about to kill every human in sight, our Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui, fortunately, stepped in all his flashiness. Before anyone knew it, Uzui beheads Daki, diffusing what could have been an awful showdown.
With the pestering Upper Rank demon now incapacitated, Tanjiro now focuses on a way to bring his sister back. Remembering Uzui’s words and seeing the image of his late loving mother, Tanjiro began to sing his mother’s lullaby which, in turn, caused Nezuko to cry so hard that she reverted into the adorable girl we all know her to be. With her finally asleep, the Entertainment District seemed to have been saved—at least, that’s what we thought.
Despite Daki being beheaded, she didn’t disintegrate. Instead, her severed head continued whining and yelling at Uzui for killing her. Uzui taunts her, stating that she wouldn’t have lost if she weren’t so weak. This causes Daki to throw a tantrum, calling for her older brother to save her. Just when we were confused about who she was calling unto and where he would arrive from, a green-haired demon named Gyutaro came crawling out of Daki’s body, quickly dodging Uzui’s attacks to soothe his baby sister’s tears.
Angered by Daki’s current situation (and at the fact Uzui has three wives), Gyutaro sends his Flying Blood Sickles in both Uzui and innocent humans’ direction. Our Sound Hashira was able to dodge, but, with having to protect the neighborhood, his juniors, and himself, Uzui charmingly admits this fight won’t be easy.
How will Uzui defeat these demon siblings? Will Inosuke and Zenitsu help or hinder this battle? And most importantly, will an exhausted-Tanjiro be able to help, too? All this and more will hopefully be answered in the next episode!
