Fans were disappointed when Kiernan Shipka came and left Riverdale as quickly as she arrived, but fortunately, Sabrina is coming back for an encore!
As first reported by TVLine, Shipka will reprise her role as Sabrina Spellman with a return to Riverdale later this season. The news broke ahead of the show’s PaleyFest panel in LA on April 9 and is news that many fans had been hoping for after the character’s highly promoted crossover failed to live up to expectations.
Reprising the role she originated in Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Shipka crossed over into Riverdale during the fourth hour in the show’s five-part “Rivervale” event, “Chapter Ninety-Nine: The Witching Hour(s).”
Despite heavily promoting her involvement in the event, Shipka’s appearance was on the shorter side with a story that saw Sabrina coming to Riverdale to help her friend Cheryl cast a powerful spell.
When will Kiernan Shipka return as Sabrina in Riverdale season 6?
Currently, The CW has not yet set an airdate for Kiernan Shipka’s return as Sabrina Spellman; however, it has been revealed that her return will come sometime before season 6 comes to an end.

Considering there is no mention of Shipka or her character in the upcoming episodes, the earliest we could see her return would be in episode 12 — though no official return date has been shared thus far. Given the season 6 finale is expected to air sometime in late July, we should see Sabrina return to Riverdale in an episode likely to air between May and July.
