Good Sam, the medical drama starring Sophia Bush, is the latest hospital-set series to reel audiences in. This type of procedural takes viewers into the high stakes and fast moving world of medical professionals from nurses to doctors.
In Good Sam‘s case, fans have also been navigating the turbulent relationship between Bush’s character Dr. Sam Griffith and her father, Dr. Rob “Griff” Griffith (who’s played by Jason Isaacs). The two didn’t have the best dynamic before Griff fell into a coma and, upon his waking, their situation doesn’t improve.
Much of this has to do with Sam becoming chief of surgery at the hospital they both work at which was a position that Griff held before his coma. Working under the authority of his daughter chafes. Not to mention, their work culture is completely different. Griff isn’t one to set his ego aside but, regardless of his grumbling, Sam is in charge.

We know some viewers are hesitant to jump into a new show if there isn’t a guaranteed renewal. Unfortunately, the series hasn’t been renewed. However, it hasn’t been canceled either. It’s currently on the bubble with a few more CBS shows.
