The ABC fall schedule includes new series Alaska, starring Hilary Swank, and The Rookie: FEDS, a spin-off led by Niecy Nash. The two powerhouse actresses will no doubt command attention on the network as viewers tune into their shows. However, there’s another household name whose series was also picked up for the 2022-2023 television season. That’s Gina Rodriguez in the comedy, Not Dead Yet.
Rodriguez made a name for herself on The CW hit, Jane the Virgin, in the lead role. Her performance on the show won her a Golden Globe in its first season, and she’s been featured on the small and big screen ever since. She’s also held down executive producing credits through her company, I Can & I Will Productions.
Given the three actresses ABC has tapped to head their freshman class, it’s understandable that the network didn’t put all of their eggs in one basket right out the gate. Hence, Not Dead Yet not being on the fall schedule. When can viewers anticipate seeing the new series?

When does Not Dead Yet premiere on ABC?
Not Dead Yet has been held for the midseason on ABC. As such, the comedy won’t make its debut until sometime between January and March in 2023. We’ll keep you posted on an exact premiere date. In the meantime, here’s more information on the series.
Rodriguez will star as Nell Stevens, a newly single and broke woman who describes herself as a disaster. It’s been a decade since she walked away from a career that she showed promise in, and now she’s trying to jump start that same magic. However, the only job Nell is able to land is that of an obituaries writer…so things are looking a little bleak for her. But, she’s about to start getting advice from a very unexpected source that could help her get her life back on track.
Not Dead Yet is based on the book, Confessions of a 40-something F**k Up by Alexandra Potter. The cast includes Joshua Banday who plays Dennis and Angela Gibbs in the role of Cricket.
