The Grey’s Anatomy Season 18 finale airs on Thursday, May 26. How long will we need to wait for new episodes to air on ABC?
Fans have certainly been excited to see the Grey’s Anatomy Season 18 finale. Not only is it the 400th episode, but it brings Japril back. However, it is a bittersweet episode. It means we’re heading into a long break.
We’re heading into the summer hiatus this week. The good news is that we know there will be another season. This was a show renewed early in 2022, giving us something to look forward to in the 2022–2023 season.
So, when will new episodes return to ABC? How long will we need to wait for the show to come back? Will the series return in 2022?
When will Grey’s Anatomy Season 19 premiere on ABC?
We don’t yet have a premiere date for the series. This isn’t too surprising. While ABC announced the fall schedule in May, we usually have to wait until June or July to get some premiere dates confirmed.
We do know that Grey’s Anatomy Season 19 will be part of the fall 2022 schedule. It’s keeping its Thursday 9/8c timeslot, which makes a lot of sense. ABC was never going to move its top Thursday drama—in fact, it’s top drama overall.
We’re fully expecting the series to premiere sometime in the last couple of weeks in September. This is usually the time when premieres happen, but we’ll get to know the exact dates closer to the time. What we do know is that we’re looking at a four-month wait for new episodes of the series. This is nothing new, but it doesn’t mean we like it.
