You is definitely one of Netflix‘s most popular series. There’s just something about the psychological thriller and Joe Goldberg that keeps you wanting to go back for more. Even though the getting into the psyche of the stalker can be a lot sometimes!
Things definitely weren’t sunshine and roses for Joe and Love in season 3, and it all came to a head in the finale. In the last episode, Love realizes Joe is obsessed with Marienne. When she confronts him about it, he asks for a divorce. Love paralyzes Joe with aconite and tries to kill him, but Joe is one step ahead and injects her with a lethal dose of it. He knew about the poison and had taken an antidote beforehand.
He stages a murder-suicide and frames her for the Madre Linda murders and setting a house fire. Joe ends up leaving their son Henry in the care of Dante. We end the episode with Joe adopting a new identity in Paris in search of Marienne.
So much happened in the third season, but there’s more story to tell! We’re going international for the first time, which is so exciting. And we’re definitely excited for what’s in store in the fourth season. Here’s everything we know so far!
You season 4 release date
We don’t have an official release date yet. All we know so far is that the writers room went back to work on in Nov. 2021. Then the show’s official Twitter account shared production started in March 2022 in London.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Penn Badgley (who plays Joe Goldberg), said the season is actually going to take place in London instead of Paris. What has lead Joe there? We’ll have to wait and see!
What is You season 4 about?
We unfortunately don’t have a synopsis yet either. But, the lead star did also tease that the fourth installment will look a little different. Badgley told ET the tone is still similar, but the format and genre of the series will be a bit different.
You season 4 cast
Returning cast members:
- Penn Badgley as Joe Goldberg
- Tati Gabrielle as Marienne
There could be others, we just don’t have a confirmation yet. There’s always room for flashbacks as well, so you never know who might pop up!
New cast members, series regulars:
- Charlotte Richie as Kate
- Tilly Keeper as Lady Phoebe
- Lukas Gage as Adam
- Amy-Leigh Hickman as Nadia
- Ed Speleers as Rhys
Variety reports Richie’s character, Kate, is an “icy b**ch” art gallery director who immediately doesn’t like Joe and finds him suspicious. She’s protective of her wealthy, and at times too trusting, best friend Lady Phoebe.
Deadline announced that Phoebe, played by Keeper, is an aristocratic socialite with an avid fan base. Her true colors show when she’s alone with friends. She’s a steadfast cheerleader, especially to her boyfriend Adam, while also being a wild card.
The series announced Gage would be joining as Adam – Phoebe’s boyfriend. He’s a warm, funny, and hard-partying son of a wealthy family. He is famous for failing to meet their standards. But what he did learn from his parents is to do whatever it takes to get what you want.
Hickman is set to play Nadia, a literature major with a love of storytelling and aspires to be an author. According to Deadline, She’s outspoken, but insecure about never being accepted by her peer group. She’s made big mistakes, which threaten to destroy her life. And she’ll need help, even if it’s from the wrong people.
The news outlet also reported that Speleers (Outlander fans will recognize him as Stephen Bonnet!), plays Rhys. He is an author whose memoir garnered him acclaim and pressure to launch a political career. Born into poverty, he lived a traumatic life before earning money and going to Oxford which lead him to making all the right friends. He now moves easily in any social circle. Though he doesn’t have time for partying, he stays in touch with his eccentric circle of friends who were there for him during his troubled youth.
Deadline also shared a slew of new recurring cast members who have joined the series.
New cast members, recurring:
- Brad Alexander as Edward, a university student whose dad owns a powerful news outlet. He’s popular and has a fierce rivalry with Nadia.
- Niccy Lin as Sophie, an entrepreneur in the body of a pampered jetsetter. Underneath her whimisical exterior, she’s the watchful protector of her brother Simon.
- Aidan Cheng as Simon, an artist who is impossible to impress and doesn’t like small talk and strangers.

- Ozioma Whenu as Blessing, a Nigerian princess with several post-gradate degrees. She has a secret – she believes we’re all living in simulation so people shouldn’t stop themselves from doing what they want.
- Dario Coates as Connie, who attended Oxford with Kate and Phoebe. He is posh, potty mouthed, loves betting, drinking, and cocaine. He’s never faced a negative consequence.
- Sean Pertwee as Vic, Adam’s personal driver/dealer/security. He is loyal and keeps many of Adam and his friends’ secrets.
- Adam James as Elliot, who is calm and grounded. His job requires him to travel throughout Europe, and he always manages to deliver no matter how challenging the task.
