Not all fall shows premiered in September 2021. However, there are some of our favorites not returning in 2021. 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 3 is one of them.
We kept an eye on the FOX schedule just in case there was a change. There wasn’t one for October 2021, though. 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 3 is definitely not premiering this month.
That’s not all too surprising. We learned the first-responder series wasn’t part of the fall lineup, despite the fact that the series is one of the strongest on the network. That would mean it would make more sense to be in the fall lineup, right?
The decision to hold it to midseason is strategic. FOX wants a strong series for Mondays throughout the year, and the parent show 9-1-1 heads on a long midseason break at the start of the new year.
9-1-1: Lone Star Season 3 premiere date predictions
When can we expect the new season? We’re looking at January 2022 for the premiere date.
9-1-1 Season 5 will go on its midseason break in December 2021 and will remain on a break until around March 2022. There’s no way FOX will premiere a new series over Christmas. The network will wait for the new year.
Opting for a January start date is a smart move for the network. Sure, there are fans disappointed that their favorite show isn’t returning until the new year, but it’s a strategic business decision for FOX.
The new season will be a popular show for FOX. It kicks off Mondays well while its parent show is on a break, offering another great lead-in for new shows in 2022. We’re also hoping for some crossovers with the parent show at some point. The second season of Lone Star showed how it was possible to bring some of the characters from LA to Texas.
