Our eyes are on the Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon, especially after that fun teaser released. It’s not on the list of October releases.
We’re certainly excited for the Game of Thrones prequel. House of the Dragon is set 200 years before the fall of the Iron Throne. We get to see the Targaryens ruling Westeros with their dragons. And yes, it took dragons to get the kingdom.
Of course, with this show being in the works for so long, we had hoped to get it sometime in 2021. We double-checked the list of HBO releases just in case, but the show isn’t there for October 2021. We realistically didn’t expect it, though.
House of the Dragon release date predictions
When can we expect House of the Dragon? The series is set for release sometime in 2022. It will come to both HBO and HBO Max.
Right now, we only have the year. We have no idea of the month or even the season. That’s a long 12 months to figure out.
With the release of the teaser, we had hoped that it meant a release soon. Could it arrive early in 2022? That’s sadly unlikely. The show is still filming, recently shut down due to COVID-19 issues, and there will be a lot of CGI work needed.
There is some speculation around that the show isn’t going to arrive until at least September 2022. This is because of the CGI work needed. The budget is much bigger than Game of Thrones‘s ever was, and it will be needed with the dragons that will be added into the story.
We’re patient, though. If we can wait so long for the terrible final season of Game of Thrones, we can definitely wait for a show that promises to be so much better.
