If there’s one YA book adaptation that we’ve looked forward to, it’s been about the Grishaverse. There’s still a wait for Shadow and Bone Season 2.
The first season of Shadow and Bone was outstanding, especially with the way it combined the Crows’ storyline into the main storyline. Now our eyes are on when the second season will arrive. Yes, there will be a second season.
Shadow and Bone Season 2 is not on the list of October releases on Netflix. We’ve double-checked the list just to make sure, although we’ll admit that we didn’t expect to see it on the streaming platform.
When will Shadow and Bone Season 2 come to Netflix?
If the season isn’t arriving this month, when could we expect to see it? Will we get to watch the season in 2021?
Don’t expect Shadow and Bone Season 2 in 2021. There simply isn’t enough time to film all episodes and get them through the post-production stage. We’re not expecting it until spring 2022 at the earliest.
Most Netflix shows take 14 to 18 months between seasons. The pandemic has slowed things down a little, so we could be looking at closer to the 18 months depending on just how many protocols the production team has to work through.
The announcement about the second season didn’t come until June 2021. We’re looking at June 2022 at the earliest for the release, but it could be closer to the end of the year. This show requires a lot of post-production work because of the magic (well, small science) used in the series.
This is a series we’re keeping an eye on. We’ll be sure to let you know when it arrives on Netflix as well as what to expect.
