The Great starring Elle Fanning and Nicholas Hoult, most certainly caught everyone by surprise when the Hulu series first aired back in May 2020.
Audiences everywhere absolutely adored how the series honored the history of 18th-century Russia while, simultaneously, putting a whimsical spin on how such important history was portrayed. Its first season was not only widely loved by viewers of the show but by critics as well, some of which gave the show a rather impressive Rotten Tomatoes score of 88%.
With scoring such high scores and with receiving such rave reviews, renewing the series for a second season was certainly expected, however, what was not expected was the wait for this new season, and fans have been wondering when they can finally receive their sophomore season. Unfortunately, it looks like they’re going to have to wait a little longer because The Great season 2 is not coming to Hulu in October 2021. But here’s when it will.

As you can see, in addition to the soon-coming release date, we also were given an amazing teaser trailer that depicts some of the events that are set to take place later in the season.
From seeing our expecting matriarch Catherine The Great figure out what’s best for Russia to finally getting to see Sex Education‘s Gillian Anderson play the role of her doting mother, we are certainly in for a great season and we hope you’re just as excited as we are at what’s to come next month!
