We’re picking up where the Station 19 Season 4 finale left us. Relationships are on the line, and not just the romantic ones. The friendships are also going to be tested.
At the end of the fourth season, we saw Maya and Carina get married. While it was great for them, there was an elephant in the room. During the reception, the Station 19 family learned that Maya was being relieved as captain.
Granted, Maya had broken protocol and disobeyed a direct order. However, she did it to save a life. Sullivan said that with budget cuts, a firehouse was going to get pulled apart, and it could have been Station 19.
Will Sullivan become captain on the Station 19 Season 5 premiere?
The change opens the door for Sullivan to start working up the ranks again. At least, that’s what he’s hoping. During the finale, we found out that he pretty much threw Maya under the bus to “help keep the family together,” and now there’s a chance that he’ll become captain despite everything that happened with his demotion.
That’s going to start putting relationships to the test. Naturally, Maya won’t trust Sullivan, but she may also not trust Andy. However, Andy and Sullivan will find themselves at odds on the Station 19 Season 5 premiere. Then there are all the others at the firehouse who won’t like Sullivan for his actions because there’s no way Andy will keep it all to herself.
Meanwhile, Dean and Vic may face some tension. Dean was just about to tell Vic how he felt about her only to find her kissing someone else. We’ll get to see where that goes on the new season premiere.
