There is no more confusing time than today when it comes to movie releases. Before the pandemic, we only had to look up movie times in our area and we were set. But now, due to the ongoing pandemic, movie release dates are different everywhere. Additionally, we have streaming releases and theater premieres to worry about.
In the United States, the movie opened in theaters on Sept. 23, 2021. There is also no streaming release for the movie (at the time of this writing), so to watch, you need to go to your local theater.
Almost a month later, movie fans in the UK still don’t have access to the movie.

According to Universal Pictures, the movie will open in cinemas on Oct. 22, 2021. So hang in there, movie fans! The release is coming soon.

What is Dear Evan Hansen about?
The movie follows high school student Evan Hansen, a socially awkward, teenager entering his final year of high school. After the suicide of one of his fellow classmates, Evan is tied into a web of lies that will forever change his life.
It is rated PG-13 and features a star-studded cast that includes Ben Platt (as Evan Hansen), Kaitlyn Dever, Amandla Stenberg, Amy Adams, Julianne Moore, and others.
Box Office Mojo shares that, financially, the movie disappointed with only $14 million so far, $7.4 of it from opening weekend alone. The pandemic played a big role in this, as well as the lack of a streaming release.
