October has brought some great titles to Disney Plus, but The Mandalorian season 3 is unfortunately not going to be joining that list.
Although we’d love to report that Mando, Baby Yoda and the rest of the gang will be back this month, the unfortunate news is Disney Plus will not be releasing the third season of their breakout original Star Wars drama in October as many fans had hoped they would do.
With October upon us, Disney has confirmed its complete slate of movies and programs coming across the month and The Mandalorian season 3 is once again missing from the list.
Considering season 2 dropped in late October, there had been hope Disney might go with a similar release date for season 3. However, fans are instead for quite a long wait. In fact, we’re not even anticipating the new season to arrive anytime this year.
The Mandalorian season 3 release date
At this time, Disney Plus has not announced a release date for The Mandalorian season 3 and it’s looking more and more likely we’re going to have to wait until the first quarter of 2022 before the new season will arrive.
Thus far, Disney Plus has only had one big live-action Marvel or Star Wars program airing at a time with new series debuting shortly after the most recent has wrapped. With Hawkeye coming on Nov. 24 and The Book of Boba Fett coming on Dec. 29, it seems Disney is keeping this pattern going so one has to imagine The Mandalorian‘s next season will drop after Book of Boba Fett.
Given Book of Boba Fett is set to consist of eight episodes with episodes dropping weekly, it’s likely the earliest we could see season 3 of The Mandalorian drop would be Feb. 23, 2022, or March 2, 2022.
