Is Grey’s Anatomy Season 18 on tonight, Thursday, Nov. 4?

We love tuning into Grey’s Anatomy as part of the TGIT lineup. What’s going on tonight? Is there a new episode of Grey’s Anatomy Season 18 on tonight, Thursday, Nov. 4?

There is some bad news for all Grey’s fans. There isn’t a new episode on tonight. There isn’t even a rerun on tonight.

The show is still on a break. ABC has opted for a Queen singalong special in the Station 19 timeslot and then reruns of the new drama series Queens in the next two slots of the night. This will be an attempt to boost the live ratings for the music drama.

Why isn’t Grey’s Anatomy on tonight?

What’s with the break in Grey’s, though? This is all likely linked to the pandemic and all the protocols with filming. It’s taking longer than normal to film each episode, so the show will need more time and that means a few breaks here and there in the schedule.

After this break, there will be another one coming up. We’ve got Thanksgiving this month, and there’s no way new episodes of the TGIT lineup will air that night!

The show should have new episodes up until the winter break around the middle of December. Then it looks like we’ve got a long break similar to last season. The longer break means no on-off schedule that the likes of CBS and NBC had for its main shows, which is certainly appreciated.

When Grey’s Anatomy does return with a new episode, we’ve got a two-hour crossover event with Station 19. This episode is set to see one character not make it out alive as bombs go off in the city. It looks like Ben Warren is going to be the one not making it out, but we’re hoping that is just a way for the shows to get people to tune in. We can’t lose Ben!

Grey’s Anatomy returns with new episodes on Thursday, Nov. 11 at 9/8c on ABC. Watch from 8/7c for the two-hour crossover event and catch up the following day on Hulu.
