Transplant Season 2 is not coming to NBC in November 2021

We’re still waiting to see what’s next for Bash, Mags, June, and Theo. Transplant Season 2 is happening, but the wait for the season continues.

Transplant Season 2 is not on the list of releases on NBC in November 2021. If we’re honest, we didn’t expect it to be, but that didn’t stop us just double-checking things. After all, the first season arrived in September 2020, so wouldn’t it make sense for the second season to come a year later?

The problem is Transplant isn’t an NBC series. NBC acquired the show from Canada, and it airs on CTV in Canada first. The season isn’t coming to CTV in Canada in November 2021 either.

Transplant Season 2 premiere date predictions

We’re not actually expecting the season until 2022. When it comes to the NBC release, we’re not expecting it until the summer of 2022. U.S. networks usually keep acquisitions for the summer programming, when the live ratings are usually naturally lower and when lower-cost programming is needed. Acquisitions are much cheaper than original programming.

The season is still filming. Back in June 2021, Laurence Leboeuf shared on Facebook that she was back in scrubs and Season 2 would be on its way “soon.” How soon is “soon?”

It’s looking like winter 2022 at the earliest for Transplant Season 2 on CTV. January or February would make sense. This is when a lot of big Canadian shows end up airing as the fall schedule doesn’t quite work the same way north of the border. It’s going to depend on how long it takes to film the episodes and get them through post-production.

We’ll be sure to keep an eye on the Canadian release date. If it does arrive early 2022, we should get some sort of news about it in late November or early December.

Transplant Season 2 is likely to air in 2022. Catch up on the recent season on Crave in Canada and on NBC.com in the U.S.
