Is there a new episode of Magnum PI tonight? (October 29, 2021)

Since kicking off season 4, Magnum P.I. has been delivering one action-packed episode after another with a season that has already seen Magnum and company thrust into several unique and high-stakes situations.

From TC and Shammy’s brush with death after being skyjacked by a pair of drug runners to Higgins’ being dragged back into MI6 following missteps while abroad, the season has been filled with action and unexpected twists which has helped to make the show appointment TV once again for fans.

Is there a new episode of Magnum PI tonight, October 29?

While Magnum P.I. has been airing new episodes without any interruption since its premiere on Oct. 1, the show is finally taking its first break of the season with no new episode planned for tonight.

Instead, CBS will be airing a rerun of season 3’s “The Big Payback,” in which Higgins was abducted leaving Magnum, TC and Rick with no choice but to break one of Magnum’s former clients out of prison to save her.

Why isn’t Magnum PI on tonight?

CBS has not officially confirmed why there is not a new episode of Magnum P.I. airing this Friday night, but the decision is likely the result of FOX’s coverage of the World Series. As in past years, FOX’s coverage of the MLB championship series is drawing quite a lot of viewers and it seems likely CBS felt the best move for its Friday night shows was to air reruns rather than original episodes which would be in direct competition with the World Series coverage.

When does Magnum PI return?

Fear, not Magnum P.I. fans as this is not the start of a multi-week break in the season! Although there is no new episode of Magnum P.I. airing this Friday night, the series will return to CBS’s schedule with its next new episode on Friday, Nov. 5!

In the episode, Magnum and Higgins are hired by a groom to look into his bride-to-be which leads them down an unexpected rabbit hole filled with secrets and lies.
