Looking back at TV sitcoms, the Munsters are among one of the best. Unlike other series of the same era, it doesn’t seem to be remembered as fondly.
Before getting into the details about the movie, it’s only right to talk a bit about what inspired the film. The Munsters premiered in 1964 and ran for two seasons. While it featured the typical sitcom archetypes of the time, the show followed a family made up of different monsters.
While the original series only ran for 2 seasons, the show was revisited via different avenues. Of course, the most recent reiteration is going to be Rob Zombie’s reboot of the beloved series into a feature film.

Rob Zombie’s The Munsters release update
Back in 2021, Rob Zombie posted that his next film would be a reboot of The Munsters but we finally got a release update on the film. While it’s unclear when the film’s release date will be, Rob Zombie posted that the film would premiere in 2022.

As for the cast of the film, we only have three actors who have been confirmed as Munster family members. First up is Jeff Daniel Phillips as Herman Munster while Sheri Moon Zombie will play Lily Munster. To round out the original Munster family, Daniel Roebuck will be playing Grandpa Munster.
We have yet to find out who will be playing the other two Munster family members which are Eddie and Marilyn. It’s also unclear if they’re featured in the film at all, but other members of the cast include Jorge Garcia, Richard Blake, and Cassandra Petersen (Elvira!)
