Tuesday TV ratings: FBI: Most Wanted up, The Flash and Riverdale down [Nov. 16]

Tuesday, Nov. 16 was mixed in the live TV ratings. We did get to see FBI: Most Wanted tick up, but The CW season premieres were down.

It was a night of new episodes across the board. Some shows did finally see upward ticks after a few weeks of falls. However, the season debuts on The CW didn’t quite come with the live ratings fans would want.

CBS won the night in the audience with its crime dramas. Well, with one crime drama in particular. FBI ticked up in the audience by 2.5% to give it the best audience of the night. The show did dip 16% in the demo, though. This isn’t a concern right now, and the show is sure to be renewed.

In fact, the entire FBI lineup is certain to be renewed. FBI: International ticked up 3% in the audience to win the timeslot. Its demo was down, but only by 2%. FBI: Most Wanted ticked up in both the demo and audience, winning its timeslot and proving that there is still plenty of people interested in it. The episode was an emotional one that shone a big light on brain injuries, something more shows could do with showing as the world starts to take them seriously.

The Flash and Riverdale down, La Brea mixed

We’re not worried about Tuesdays on NBC. The Voice won the night in the demo with its 2.5% upward tick. The audience was down 3%, but it was still the second-best of the night. It’s getting renewed. La Brea and New Amsterdam have both been renewed already.

We are keeping an eye on FOX. The Resident fell another 23% in the demo and 3% in the audience. The show is still okay in terms of all scripted programming on the network so we might see it get another season. I hope it gets another season.

Our Kind of People fell another 14% in the demo and 7.5% in the audience. With the continued falls and lack of backorder, I doubt the show is going to be renewed.

ABC did see The Bachelorette tick up in both the demo and audience. This is the first upward tick in a few weeks. I’m sure the show is going to be renewed anyway. It’s Queens I’m worried about. While steady in the demo, it dropped 10% in the audience. The numbers are just too low compared to FBI: Most Wanted and New Amsterdam.

Finally, it’s all about The CW. The Flash and Riverdale premiered new seasons and both were down. The Flash fell 33% in the demo and 25% in the audience compared to the Season 7 premiere. Riverdale was down 28% in the demo and 44% in the audience compared to its Season 4 premiere.

I don’t think we have to worry, though. The numbers are still pretty good for the other scripted shows on the network, especially The Flash. We’ll likely see both renewed, although I wouldn’t be surprised if Riverdale was for a seventh and final season.
