Dark Winds is a brand new AMC series coming your way later this year and it’s one that is certainly going to be the talk of the season.

Deadline reports the show is based on the thrilling Leaphorn & Chee books by Tony Hillerman which are classified as crime fiction. This means the show is slated to have the crime-fighting drama we all know and love plus tons of action-packed scenes. However, what we believe is going to be the true testament of this show’s greatness is its cast because the current lineup of actors set to appear in the title is seriously stacked.

Dark Winds release date

Dark Winds officially premieres on AMC and AMC+ on Sunday, June 12. On this day, the series will release the first two episodes of its first season and will proceed to release new episodes every Sunday.

Reservation Dogs actor Zahn McClarnon will play the lead role of Joe Leaphorn in the series.

Alongside McClarnon are loads of more talented actors! The cast of Dark Winds features:

Dark Winds synopsis

As mentioned previously, the upcoming release is inspired by the work of Tony Hillerman, specifically the fifth installment in his novel series.

The fifth novel follows the life of Joe Leaphorn as he and his new deputy, Jim Chee fight to uncover a string of heinous crimes in the Navajo Nation community. With time running out and with the crimes getting more unnerving in nature, Leaphorn must work fast to find out who exactly is behind these actions and also find out the culprit’s motive.
