Dexter: New Blood has arrived! The new series, which serves as a continuation of Dexter, is now on Showtime. There has been a lot of confusion about when and where the new episodes are streaming or airing. We’re here to clear things up.
The world of entertainment is very different from the pre-pandemic days. Now, fans aren’t sure where a new (or returning) series is going to premiere. Will it arrive to a network and air at a certain time or has it been snagged by a streaming service? In some cases, it’s both! Shows go live on a streaming platform, but also air at a later time on their network.
That is exactly what is happening with Dexter: New Blood. New episodes of the series will be going live and ready to stream on the Showtime app Sundays at 12:01 a.m. ET (which is 11:01 p.m. on Saturday for those in Central Time). To be sure, you’ll need to check your local times!
However, new episodes of Dexter: New Blood will also be airing on the Showtime network Sunday nights at 9 p.m. — where will you be watching? At the time of this writing, only one episode is available, episode 1, titled “Cold Snap,” so if you haven’t watched, it’s easy to catch up.
Is Dexter: New Blood also going to stream on HBO Max?
Not only is it confusing knowing where shows (and movies) are streaming, but I can see why some fans are wondering if Dexter: New Blood will be streaming on HBO Max.
The streaming platform HBO Max is known for its big featured films and groundbreaking dramas, and Dexter was one of the best series back in its day, and after screening the first few episodes of Dexter: New Blood, we know it’ll be just as successful, so HBO Max seems like a good fit, right?
Unfortunately, just like Dexter was, Dexter: New Blood is going to be a Showtime exclusive. Yes, this means that to watch the new series, you’ll need Showtime!
