Where is CW’s Roswell, New Mexico filmed?: Is that the real Roswell?

Roswell, New Mexico season 4 is only two episodes in, but we are already on the edge of our seats! If you haven’t caught up, you need to. Luckily, you are only two episodes behind this season, but events are quickly heating up! Hidden Remote has already gone over the latest events in a feature, so in this post we are focusing on Roswell, New Mexico‘s filming locations. We all know where the story takes place, but was it actually filmed there? Here’s what we know!

TV and movie fans know by now that just because a story is set somewhere, does not mean it was actually filmed there. In fact, whatever you’re watching, chances are it was filmed in Atlanta, New York, and/or various locations in Canada. These are the most popular shooting spots (and most affordable). Another location that often is the home of movie and TV sets, is Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Did the Roswell, New Mexico cast and crew travel to any of these locations? Let’s find out.

Where is Roswell, New Mexico filmed?

For those who may not know, Roswell, New Mexico is a real location. It’s a city in New Mexico. But was the CW series filmed there? Sorta. Roswell, New Mexico is shot in New Mexico, but not entirely in Roswell. While some scenes were really filmed there, principal photography and most scenes were shot in towns and cities around Roswell.

Filming spots for the series include: Albuquerque, Lindy’s Diner (which was used as the fictional Crashdown Cafe), Santa Fe, Sant Fe Studios, Las Vegas (not Nevada, but Las Vegas, New Mexico), and lastly, a few spots in Roswell, but mostly the other locations.

Is this what you were expecting or are you surprised to learn that the series is sticking pretty close to its setting?
