As if Dexter Morgan wasn’t already stressed, depressed, and a bit of a mess, a blast from the past arrives to complicate things further in Dexter: New Blood episode 5, “Runaway.”
Spoilers ahead if you have not watched Dexter: New Blood episode 5! Watch the episode on Showtime before reading on.
Harrison, Harrison…such a complicated guy! What are his intentions? Before this episode, I was fully convinced that Harrison was up to no good. In fact, I was pretty sure that Harrison, with no one to guide him, carries a darker, more sinister dark passenger than his dad. But in episode 5, “Runaway,” he is very convincing about being innocent. He is either telling the truth or has bigger problems than we believed, and I’m going with the later…at least, for now!
Jim Lindsay’s days may be numbered and, honestly, hopefully Deb’s are, too, because she’s becoming a little irritating in my humble opinion.
Ahh, Angel Batista appears in Dexter: New Blood episode 5!
Guys, it’s BATISTA! As Dexter deals with the drug dealer who sold Harrison some pills, there are much more interesting things happening with Angela and Molly. Angela attends a law enforcement conference about missing persons and she’s also there to investigate if Matt truly did stay at the hotel his dad claims — it’s called multitasking.
At the conference, Angela finds none other than Miami metro Homicide Captain Angel Batista! He talks about, you guessed it, the Bay Harbor Butcher. Batista speaks about the case and how all victims were criminals and got away with a crime, this is what they all had in common. Batista also mentions Debra Morgan, sharing how she never gave up on the case. Angela asks if she could speak with Deb and Batista informs her that she’s dead. But he doesn’t stop there!
Batista also shares that Deb’s brother, Dexter, also died tragically, but he had a son, he says, named Harrison.
Is Dexter in trouble in Dexter: New Blood episode 5?
I wouldn’t say the name “Harrison” is very common, but it’s nothing to think twice about. But when Angela goes back home, her daughter Aubrey tells Angela about how, while Harrison was on drugs, he shared that his dad’s name isn’t really “Jim Lindsay.” That’s enough for a cop like Angela to do a little digging. And, sure enough, she finds what she is looking for: Dexter Morgan’s obituary, and the guy looks exactly like Jim Lindsay.
What will Angela do? What lie will Dexter even come up with?
Dexter: New Blood episode 6 will stream on Showtime on Sunday, Dec. 12, at 12:01 a.m. ET.
