Yellowstone, the Paramount Network multi-generational drama focused on the Dutton family, is one of the most popular television shows airing.
The series follows the family’s fight to hold onto their land in the face of land developers trying to steal it, the bordering American Indian reservation seeking to reclaim their stolen territory, and Yellowstone National Park looking to expand their boundaries.
The show is set in modern times, but it’s in a never-ending battle with the past and the family’s history on the land, dating back to the 1800s. For fans of Yellowstone, its spinoff series1883 is a welcome sight as the Dutton’s history will now be fleshed out for viewers.
It’s a history that’s fraught with danger, informed by the past (in this case James Dutton’s time as a Confederate soldier and The Civil War in general), and with an eye toward manifest destiny and westward expansion.
1883 made its television premiere on Sunday, Dec. 19 after Yellowstone. However, the series will stop simulcasting episodes on Paramount Network once its second episode airs on the channel. Here’s where you can watch the drama online!
Can you watch 1883 on Peacock?
Unfortunately, 1883 isn’t available to stream on Peacock. While the platform is the streaming home for Yellowstone, its spinoff series is a Paramount+ original.
When the show made its streaming debut on Dec. 19, two episodes were released. Subsequent episodes will be released weekly on Sundays. The first season has a 10-episode order and will likely finish streaming in February 2022 if production stays on track.
1883 stars Sam Elliott, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, LaMonica Garrett, and Isabel May. Graham Greene, Tom Hanks, and Billy Bob Thorton were tapped for guest starring roles in the series.
