Tuesdays are all about our favorite doctors and nurses at Chastain Hospital. Is there a new episode of The Resident on tonight, Tuesday, Dec. 14?
We have quite a bit of bad news coming for fans of The Resident. It all starts with the lack of new episode tonight.
Not only that, but we’re not even getting a rerun. FOX is airing a holiday special of I Can See Your Voice instead. This is sure to be a blow for those who would prefer to at least watch a rerun of the medical drama. At least the episodes are on Hulu to watch!
Why isn’t a new episode of The Resident on tonight?
This is where the bad news continues. The lack of new episode is due to the winter break. All broadcast scripted shows tend to go on a break this time of year. The live ratings take a dip and the networks don’t want to risk the shows.
The episode last week was the fall finale. This was something mentioned in the promo so we were ready to go into a few weeks without new episodes.
Usually, shows return in January, but that’s not going to be the case for The Resident. The series is going to return in February instead. Yes, that means we have to wait two months to find out about Bell’s medical condition. What has Conrad figured out?
We’ll also have to wait to find out more about this new doctor. She’s hiding something, but is it sinister? Is it possible that she’s actually in witness protection and trying her hardest to protect herself? It would be good for the show to take a completely different turn to the “villain” storyline often used.
We do have an exact date for the return. Get ready for new episodes of The Resident on Tuesday, Feb. 1 at 8/7c on FOX.
The Resident returns with all-new episodes on Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2022 at 8/7c on FOX. Catch up on the season via Hulu.
