There are many movies streaming online, but if you want the big-screen experience this Christmas weekend, can you go to your local movie theater? Are all movie theaters open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day?
This holiday weekend is packed with amazing movies! Most of these movies can be enjoyed from the comfort of your own home as they are available via a streaming platform. Some of these movies include Don’t Look Up (on Netflix), The Matrix Resurrections (on HBO Max), Being the Ricardos (on Prime Video), and many more! If you’re okay with not watching something new, Netflix, HBO Max, Apple TV+ and just about any other streaming service has your back.
However, there are also plenty of movies only available in theaters. The big-screen experience can be a lot of fun, especially during the holidays. Some of the movies only available in theaters include Sing 2, American Underdog: The Kurt Warner Story, Licorice Pizza, The Tender Bar, The King’s Man, and more!
Can you go to the movies on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day?
Yes! You absolutely can! In fact, going to the movies is a Christmas tradition many practice (my family included). After opening up presents and enjoying breakfast, my family and I head to our local movie theater. It’s one of my favorite traditions. It’s also something people who don’t celebrate Christmas enjoy doing as theaters are emptier than usual these two days — and with the pandemic still around, this is awesome.
While some theaters may begin showings later in the day or close early, all movie theaters will be open both on Christmas Eve and on Christmas Day. To be sure and know what time one opens, check each movie theater out online!
