It’s time to check in with The Doctor and her fam once more. After the six-episode event series, we’re back with a standalone special. It’s time for the TARDIS team to take on a well-known enemy in the universe. The Daleks are back.
No matter how often the Daleks turn up, they never get old. There is always some sort of way to bring something fresh and new. This is the first of three specials in 2022, with the last one being Jodie Whittaker’s last episode as the iconic character.
The Doctor and others will find themselves trapped in a time loop. They need to figure out how to get out of the time loop and save the planet at the same time. Some people aren’t going to look forward to New Year’s Eve ever again!
Doctor Who New Year’s Day 2022 special release time
There is only one place on TV to watch the new episode. It will air on BBC America at 8 p.m. ET/PT. If you’re in Canada, it airs on CTV Sci-Fi Channel, and it usually starts about five minutes earlier. CTV Sci-Fi Channel includes ads so the hour-long episode doesn’t quite fit.
For those in America, you can watch the episode the day after on streaming. All episodes head to AMC+, which is available via Amazon Channels, as BBC America is part of the AMC brand of networks. You can also watch all six episodes of Doctor Who Season 13 right now.
Eventually, the episodes will head to HBO Max. This is where all 12 seasons and specials currently stream online. If you want to catch up on the original series, you need to turn to BritBox.
