Bel-Air seemed to have dodged a bullet when it came to Rashad Denton’s vendetta against Will. The hit he put on the teen went unfulfilled, and he was the one who ended up seeing an early grave. However, though he’s been neutralized as a threat that doesn’t mean Will and the Banks’ are out of the woods yet.
In “The Strength to Smile,” the season’s sixth episode, the Banks’ threw a lupus fundraiser in honor of Lisa’s mother, Gayle. But like any event, things didn’t go off without a few hiccups and missteps. Carlton’s drug use prevented him from being there for Lisa like he said he would. Instead, Will was there to support her and the two teens reconnected romantically which means this lopsided love triangle isn’t over yet.
Outside of teen drama, Viv had to deal with the revelation that Lisa’s father was seeing his new love when her friend was still very much alive. Reed Broderick made an appearance that could spell trouble for Viv’s marriage if he doesn’t quit signaling that he’d like to be more than associates.
Also, in terms of Phil’s campaign, another contender has thrown their hat in the ring for LA District Attorney…Lisa’s father, Fred. The Chief of Police hasn’t taken kindly to Phil’s call for the police department to be defunded and has decided to oppose him in the race.
That’s obviously a problem but the most pressing issue is that Fred is already suspicious of Will and the circumstances surrounding his arrival in Bel-Air. Seeds have been planted in the story concerning how this could all blowback on the Banks’.
Phil manipulated the system to get Will out of trouble. Jeffrey seems to be involved in the murder of Rashad Denton. There’s possibly a recording of Tray telling Carlton that Phil pulled strings to help Will and it’s in the hands of Hilary’s boss at the influencer house and thus outside of their control.
When will things blow up? We’re not sure, but episode 7’s title, “Payback’s a B*tch,” foreshadows something going down on Bel-Air. The only questions we have are what, when, and how. Here’s what we can answer.

Fans can also expect a reaction from the Banks family on Hilary’s latest viral video that turned the heat up in her kitchen as well as more drama involving Connor, Carlton’s cowardly friend who’s determined to make Will and Carlton’s lives hell at Bel-Air Academy.
