Mel decides it’s time for a sister break with Maggie in Charmed Season 4, Episode 4. What could possibly go wrong with leaving Kaela alone?
One thing I didn’t like about the OG Charmed was how Paige immediately became a sister to the Charmed Ones. Okay, it took a few episodes for Piper to grieve, but Phoebe was very quick in her attempt to replace Prue. Paige didn’t try to fight against being a sister all that much. It just didn’t feel all too real.
I did wonder how they were going to manage to bring in another sister into the new Charmed when they’d already done the “adopted” sister. Well, it turns out that they’ve managed it, and we’re still trying to figure out how Kaela really is connected to Mel and Maggie. Did their mom really put another child up for adoption?
What we do get to see in Charmed Season 4, Episode 4 is that Kaela hasn’t immediately been brought in as a sister. She’s another Charmed One, but Mel and Maggie aren’t treating her as a sister immediately.

This episode proves there isn’t that connection yet. When Mel suggests a vacation, it’s only for her and Maggie. They are the sisters, and they are the ones heading off to get some time away. Chances are they won’t get the time away, but they’ll try.
It all comes about when Maggie has a near miss while demon hunting. Mel wants to keep her baby sister safe. That leaves Kaela in charge of the Command Center. Is she ready for this?
