The Summer I Turned Pretty is coming to the small screen in June! The series, which is based on the books by Jenny Han (Yes, the author behind the To All the Boys trilogy!), is a coming-of-age story set to steal hearts this summer.
The story focuses on Isabel, otherwise known as Belly. As the title makes clear, we’ll be dropped into the season where most teens are having fun in the sun. Belly’s been making heads turn, something that was once foreign to her.
This attention, however, also puts her in the middle of a love triangle between two brothers who also happen to be her friends. Feelings are difficult in normal circumstances, but when you’re caught in the middle between two people you care about, well…things are prone to taking a dramatic turn.
Han serves as showrunner for the series along with Gabrielle Stanton. The author also wrote the pilot and is an executive producer on the show as well. For fans of her work, that’s sure to be a huge relief because its adaptation is firmly in her hands.
