Helen has to deal with the realities of her medical condition in New Amsterdam Season 4, Episode 18. Don’t miss a beat of tonight’s new episode.
During the previous episode, things went from bad to worse for Helen. She started the episode learning that she was suffering from severe blood clots, and she would need multiple surgeries. One of those would be a hysterectomy. When she refused that to happen, she went for the riskier treatment plan.
However, things took a turn for a worst, and she needed emergency surgery. There were complications, including Helen suffering from a major stroke. That’s led to new problems. Helen has lost her ability to speak. She knows the words, but she can’t get them out.
We’re going to see how that plays out for Helen. Her voice has always been one of her strengths. She’s losing a part of who she is, and there are risks that this could lead to losing everyone around her. Will Max walk away from her now that she’s so ill? We know Max and how much he loves Helen, so that’s not something we’re worried about, but Helen could feel like she’s not worthy of Max now.
Iggy needs to consider his marriage in New Amsterdam Season 4, Episode 18
While Iggy pushed Trevor away from him during that big night, Martin found out about it all. He views flirting as cheating. When it comes to the sorts of feelings Iggy was feeling while flirting with Trevor, that’s understandable.
Now Iggy is going to have to face everything that’s going on in his marriage. We saw complications a couple of seasons ago when Iggy just up and adopted another baby. The two never did really talk about that from what I can remember, and it seems like they just try to forget the bad. That only lasts for so long.
