Peacock’s original series Wolf Like Me dropped in January 2022. The television dramedy is a miniseries, but some fans are wondering if there’s more story to tell.
Wolf Like Me follows single father Gary who lives in Adelaide, Australia with his 11-year-old daughter Emma. Both of them are still grieving the loss of Emma’s mother Lisa, who they lost to cancer seven years ago. They meet advice columnist Mary who has her own emotional baggage and is hiding a big secret. Though she tries to stay away from the father and daughter, fate continues to push them together.
So what is that secret? Mary is a werewolf! She’s too afraid to get close to the father and daughter because of who she is. She reveals to Gary that she ate her husband on the night she turned. After he learns her secret Gary ends things, but the two are just meant to be together.
Season 1 had a total of six, half hour episodes. The season finale came to a pretty satisfying end, but fans of the show are still eager for more.
Will there be a season 2 of Wolf Like Me?
Good news Wolf Like Me, fans! TVLine reports the series has officially been renewed for a second season. Usually limited and miniseries are one or two seasons, so my best guess is that season 2 will be the end. But don’t take my word for it. This is just a guess and I could be wrong!
It’s not surprising that Peacock chose to renew the series. It’s been doing pretty well with the audience. The show received a 56% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but a 91% average audience score on the review-aggregation website.
Right now we don’t have details on what the second season is all about. But now Emma knows the truth about Mary’s other self. And, the season finale revealed Mary is pregnant! We’ll need to dive into what that means for the family and the potential werewolf baby who’s on the way.
What happened at the end of Wolf Like Me season 1?
The season finale brought Gary, Mary, and Emma out on a camping trip because the couple wanted to tell Emma about Mary’s werewolf identity. The approaching full moon is on the minds of the adults. I mean honestly, why did you even take that chance you guys? That was just irresponsible if you ask me.
Anyway, Mary announces the news that Emma will be a big sister. As the little family plans to head home before Mary’s transformation, of course their car breaks down. Mary runs away into the woods so she doesn’t hurt her family. With Gary and Emma stranded, a group of bandits show up. Mary, as a werewolf, comes to their rescue and mauls the bandits. Poor Gary has to explain everything to Emma. The little girl seems to take it well and come morning when Mary returns, everything is fine and well.
