Will there be a season 4 of Batwoman? (Has the show been canceled?)

Batwoman season 3 was the best season of the series. It blended together what fans of The CW’s Arrowverse love about the network’s superhero television i.e. camaraderie, nods to comics canon, iconic villains, a focus on family (both biological and found), and had more than a dash of romance thrown in for good measure, too.

Season 3 was a triumph for Batwoman considering the show had to find its legs again last season after former lead, Ruby Rose, left the series. With no Kate Kane to steer the ship, fans wondered if the series would capsize under the weight of her absence.

Thankfully it didn’t due to Javicia Leslie taking up the mantle of the Scarlet Knight. As Ryan Wilder, she brought new energy to the series and fans fell in love with her. While season 2 had some speed bumps due to the transition, by the time season 3 went into full swing, viewers knew they had a gem on their hands.

It’s no surprise that fans have been clamoring for more now that season 3 has come to its end. But can they expect to see a fourth season of the show? Unfortunately, we don’t have good news.

Has Batwoman been canceled?

Batwoman has been canceled by The CW. According to The Hollywood Reporter, showrunner Caroline Dries was the first to break the news via her Twitter.

While fans of the show had been launching campaigns across the web to get the series renewed, it didn’t sway the network. As such, we won’t be seeing a season 4 of Batwoman. Stay tuned to Hidden Remote for more CW news and coverage.

In a recent episode, The CW Spiral podcast toasted Javicia Leslie and her outstanding performance as Ryan Wilder on Batwoman. The show has been canceled, but she’ll forever be our Batwoman. Check out their video below:
