It’s May 27! And, all of us Stranger Things fans obviously know what that means. At this point, most of you have probably stayed up late to at least watch the season 4 premiere. And, maybe those devoted binge-watchers out there are making it through the season.
Season 4 part 1 has already delivered shocking reveals, a few deaths thanks to this season’s big bad Vecna, the funny moments we all love, introduced us to the new cast members, and so much more! I just know volume 2, which includes episode 8 and the finale episode 9, will be awesome!
I know we’re all basically in Stranger Things heaven right now and we haven’t even gotten the full fourth season yet, but some of you might already be wondering whether a fifth season of the Netflix hit is in the works.
Is Stranger Things season 5 happening?
The answer to that question is, yes! There is going to be a Stranger Things season 5. Yay! But with that good news comes the bittersweet news that Netflix renewed the series for a fifth and final season. This is how long the Duffer Brothers (aka the creators of the show) envisioned the story going.
According to Variety, the season 4 finale will “dovetail directly” into the fifth season. While all productions were shut down due to the pandemic, the Duffer Brothers used that time to outline season 5. The news outlet also reports that the as of now, the creators are pretty sure the gap between seasons 4 and 5 will be shorter since they already have an initial outline.
Hopefully that’s the case! There’s definitely mixed feelings. I don’t want to say goodbye to this beloved series, but at the same time I don’t want it just to keep going. Eventually it will feel like the story is just dragging on, and that could ruin a great show. We’re much better off having it end on a strong note, which I don’t doubt we will get!
