Roswell, New Mexico season 4 premiere recap: Is the Alighting happening?

With the Roswell, New Mexico season 4 premiere, the series made its triumphant return and what an episode it was! Even though we will have to say goodbye to our pod squad eventually (not cool, CW), right now, we’re along for the ride and enjoying some Saturn Rings in the meantime! First, let’s catch up with our Crashdown crew.

It’s been six months since they defeated Jones. Max is currently the Interim Sheriff and Liz is teaching students getting their GED. Plus, Kyle and Alex have been helping Eduardo at Deep Sky while Isobel has been continuing her Women as Warriors work.

Everything has been wonderful for the crew. Maria has been taking serums to cure her degeneration and is doing well so far. Even the couples are also faring well, despite some minor complications.

Alex and Michael are now living together, but Michael being Michael, he begins to let his worries seep through. After he accidentally breaks a mini version of the town’s gazebo that Alex built with his mom, he questions whether moving in is the right step.

The Roswell, New Mexico season 4 premiere brings up the Alighting

After talking to both Max and Dallas, he finally heads home to Alex, who as always, reminds Michael that he is worth holding onto. We’re ready for more domestic Malex moments!

As for Max, he’s ready to take the next step with Liz by proposing. He feels like things have been going so smoothly, especially with Liz having moved in to his home. But, eventually he realizes they don’t need to make big declarations and they can just figure things out together one day at a time.

Isobel has also been moving forward in her relationship with Anatsa, but when the latter tells her she loves her, Isobel wonders if it’s time to bring her in on the alien secret. It’s a decision that weighs on her, but before she can come clean, something strange happens.

During the episode, Max had gotten called to a bank robbery thanks to the help of FBI Agent Jenna Cameron, his former partner. She had a feeling aliens were involved, but he wasn’t so sure.

It wasn’t until Max saw the duo that he realized they were aliens, but they got away. Soon, it became clear that they were planning something, especially when rain began falling and pink lights appeared in the sky. A third member of their Triad, who we saw at the end of Season 3, then brings up the “Alighting.”

The Alighting was first mentioned at the end of season 1. Could this be the mysterious event that the pod squad will be facing that was hinted at before? It looks like this season is going to be amazing and really give the aliens something to think about!
