We would love nothing more than to see what’s next for Alina, Mal, the Crows, and the others. The wait for Shadow and Bone Season 2 continues.
It didn’t take long for Netflix to renew Shadow and Bone for a second season. This is a series that was certainly worth the hype, bringing us a slightly updated version of the story Leigh Bardugo wrote—and Bardugo did admit that there were flaws in the writing of her first novel.
While we know a second season is coming, we don’t know when that will be. What we do know is that it didn’t manage to sneak its way on the list of Netflix releases in June 2022. We didn’t expect it, but it would be nice to have a miracle happen for a change.
When will Shadow and Bone Season 2 come to Netflix?
The wait is on, and there is no end in sight just yet. It’s hard to say when the season will arrive, especially with filming still going on.
It took more than a year between production ending and the first season coming to Netflix. Part of this would have been the lengthy CGI work, but it would have also been linked to it being the first season. There is a lot of design work that goes into the first season that isn’t a problem for future seasons. That should help to keep the post-production process this season down by a few months.
According to What’s On Netflix, production was slated to end last month. Howeever, there are no signs of that actually being the case. Our sister site, Netflix Life, stays filming is slated to continue until June or July. That would make more sense for an eight-episode season.
With that in mind, we’re not looking at a release in 2022 at all. We’re looking at summer 2023 at this rate. We will keep you updated as we get to know more about Shadow and Bone Season 2.
