We apologize for bringing the bad news about The Handmaid’s Tale Season 5. It’s not on the October list of releases on Hulu, but when could it arrive?
We double-checked the list of Hulu releases for the month just in case. The Handmaid’s Tale Season 5 is nowhere on the list. It’s certainly disappointing, but if we’re honest, we didn’t expect to see it there.
Of course, eyes are on when the new season will arrive. We know that the fifth season is happening, and there are rumors that it could be the last. This is a show that needs to go out on its own terms while on a high. We need the complete story after all this time, especially now that June is in Canada.
There are a lot of questions for the fifth season, too. There were some major moments at the end of The Handmaid’s Tale Season 4, including the death of a certain former Commander of Gilead. What will this mean for June moving forward?
The Handmaid’s Tale Season 5 premiere date predictions
The Handmaid’s Tale Season 5 is still filming in Toronto and surrounding areas. The good news is the show hasn’t had to face a shutdown for COVID reasons. The bad news is the protocols are extremely strict in Ontario for filming and it does limit the possibilities. One of the limitations is only 50 people allowed on set, which reduces all those big scenes that you’ve seen in the past with the handmaids.
That being said, the storylines are becoming a little more contained. It doesn’t stop us from being excited to see what is to come next.
We’re not expecting the season until sometime in 2022. It’s possible that the season could arrive in April 2022 considering the renewal came in December 2020. We may have to wait until June, which has been a release month in the past.
Expect the hybrid release model again. We’ll likely get the first three or four episodes at once and then a weekly release after that.
