A new Marvel action-adventure miniseries is coming to Disney+, and it features one of the original Avengers from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Taking place after the Blip, we’ll follow Clint Barton aka Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and his archer protégée, Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld), as they work to “confront enemies” from Hawkeye’s past as Ronin.
Since the miniseries was announced, we’ve learned that Kate Bishop is a 22-year-old Hawkeye fan who is being trained to take over his role. She catches Barton’s attention when she starts impersonating Ronin in New York City, and has been described as a smart and witty badass with immense physical abilities.
Additionally, we know from the post-credits scene in Black Widow that Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), who is now working for Allegra de Fontaine, will be coming after Barton because she believes he’s responsible for Natasha’s death. We’re excited to see Pugh reprise her role and show off more of her talents as a spy and assassin.
The cast also includes Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, Zahn McClarnon, Brian d’Arcy James, and Alaqua Cox. We can also expect to see Linda Cardellini, Ava Russo, Ben Sakamoto, and Cade Woodward, who are set to reprise their respective roles as the Barton family. Lucky the Pizza Dog will also make his first appearance in the MCU.
Is the Disney+ show Hawkeye a Christmas show?
Though this may be up for debate, we say yes! Hawkeye takes place in New York City during the Christmas season. We hope this means we’ll see the Rockefeller Christmas Tree, ice skating rinks in parks, light displays on buildings and other festive sights — along with a packed house for Rogers, The Musical.
Christmas also plays a role in the main story. Hawkeye will set Christmas as a hard deadline for when he needs to solve his problems in New York and get back to his family. Knowing that his family will reprise their roles on the miniseries, we hope this means there will be a Barton family Christmas in the show as well. Check out the trailer below:
Hawkeye consists of six episodes, with the first two episodes debuting November 24 only on Disney+.
