Gossip Girl (2021) Part 2 is set to premiere on HBO Max Thursday, Nov. 25 which is no holiday coincidence. The seventh episode, titled “Once Upon a Time in the Upper West,” continues the tradition of Gossip Girl Thanksgiving episodes established by its CW predecessor.
If you haven’t delved into this teen dramarama yet, you’re probably wondering how scandalous the series is. The OG Gossip Girl set The CW ablaze with its steamy storylines that left parents aghast and teenagers gushing over the show with their friends.
The affairs of Serena van der Woodsen, Blair Waldorf, Chuck Bass, Nate Archibald, and Dan Humphrey ran the gamut of ridiculously soapy to dream romance worthy content. Gossip Girl was a show that changed the television landscape in what’s likely the first golden era of teen television.
But times have changed and so has Gossip Girl‘s home.
While the original pushed the limits of what could be shown on primetime TV marketed toward the 13-18 year old demographic, Gossip Girl (2021) isn’t on network television.
No, this new iteration of the show set in the same universe as its predecessor on HBO Max, the streaming arm of a channel known for its mature content.
