Hawkeye is the latest Marvel series to hit Disney+. What are the chances of more episodes? Will Hawkeye Season 2 happen on the streaming service?
It took some time, but we finally have Marvel content that delves more into Clint Barton. It’s also introducing Kate Bishop, opening up the world of the MCU as part of Phase 4. The series is certainly entertaining, praised for its action sequences. Now eyes are on what’s to come in the future.
Some Marvel shows have been renewed, while others are going to continue their stories through the movies. We saw Loki land a second season just before the first season finale aired. However, WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier remain as limited series. What’s going to happen with the latest series?
Will Hawkeye Season 2 happen?
Is there a chance Disney+ will renew the show? It’s worth pointing out that Hawkeye was originally planned as a limited series. This has been the case with the majority of the Marvel TV shows.
That doesn’t mean things will stay that way. After all, we saw that the Loki renewal happened just before the first season finale aired. There’s a chance that could happen here.
That being said, it’s possible that Marvel has plans to continue the story in movie form. That’s going to be the case for Wanda’s story after WandaVision, and it’s possibly the case for Sam Wilson’s story after The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. If Clint’s or Kate’s story could continue in movie form, that may be the way the studio decides on.
This doesn’t mean we’ll never see Hawkeye Season 2. Disney+ and Marvel are opting for some unconventional methods of storytelling now, switching between the two formats. We could see the story return to the TV format as the need arises.
