Pamela Anderson was about to reach a new level of success with her movie Barb Wire. Unfortunately, though the movie is now a cult classic, it did terrible when it was released on May 3, 1996. Part of the reason why the movie was a fail, is the due to the backlash Pamela received after the unauthorized release of Pamela and Tommy Lee’s sex tape.
Barb Wire takes place during the second American Civil War in 2017, where we meet Barb Wire, a nightclub owner whose life becomes even more complicated when her ex-boyfriend, Axel Hood, returns to her life. The sci-fi movie is rated R and runs approximately 1 hour and 38 minute. Okay, so the premise isn’t all that interesting, but it’s still a lot of fun!
In the 90s, Pamela Anderson was all the rage. The Baywatch star was at the top of the game and excited for the world to see her star in her own movie. Sadly, according to Box Office Mojo, the movie made $3.7 million worldwide, which isn’t good even for the 90s. To add insult to injury, the movie was nominated for many Golden Raspberry Awards. Many believe that, if the sex tape had not been released, this wouldn’t have happen. Or, at least, the movie would not have failed this badly.
