Bel-Air episode 5 soundtrack: What songs play in the episode?

The Philly boys reunite in Bel-Air episode 5, “PA to LA,” just in time to attend a D Smoke concert courtesy of Uncle Phil. Hip-hop and rap have been an integral part of the music landscape for the series that flits between the braggadocio of young men claiming their crowns to more cerebral lyricism focused on social commentary.

This midseason episode was no different in that regard as Will and Tray’s exploits were lent a soundtrack that befitted the two. For these teens, the music they listen to is a part of an ever evolving culture that weaves together different life experiences and soundscapes to create music that inspires.

For Will and Tray, their appreciation for D Smoke’s discography further cemented their bond. It was Tray who put Will onto D Smoke and, in a funny turn of events, it was also Tray who fell apart when meeting one of his music idols.

There was a lightness to the interaction that highlighted the joy these boys feel when listening to their favorite artists and sharing their love of music together. Unfortunately, by the end of “PA to LA” these best friends had fallen out, but the soundtrack for their reunion still stands as a testament to their shared musical tastes.

Here’s what songs played in episode 5 of Bel-Air.
